Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille

One of our all time favorite restaurants!

Doc Ford’s Rum Bar and Grille on Sanibel Island serves up delicious Caribbean flavors and plentiful fresh seafood. This casual beach-themed island institute has original cocktails and an extensive premier rum selection.

A favorite with the locals, Doc Ford’s has locations on Sanibel Island, Fort Myers Beach, and St. Pete.

The inspiration for Doc Ford’s came from the books and explorations of local novelist Randy Wayne White

Make sure to check out their highly recommended signature dish, the Yucatan Shrimp!
P.S. If you need a Yucatan Shimp fix while you are stuck up north, visit Doc Ford’s Shop to hold you over until your next trip to the islands.

From Author Randy Wayne Wright

“Doc Ford is the baseball-loving, tropical adventurer who – not so surprisingly – has spent a lot of time in the same far flung countries that I wrote about when I was a monthly columnist for places such as Cuba, Cambodia, South Africa, Australia, Vietnam, Borneo, and all over South and Central America. It was while traveling for Outside and other magazines I came to know and love the superb cuisine of the rural tropics.”
