Sanibel Fourth of July Events 2026
If you are spending the Fourth of July on Sanibel Island this year, there is a full day of island fun planned, from pancakes in the morning to fireworks over the bay at night.
And because this is Sanibel, it is not just one event. It is a full island day.
There is the pancake breakfast, the parade along Periwinkle Way, family fun at Jerry’s, the community celebration at the Sanibel Recreation Center, the annual Road Rally, a jazz concert, BBQ at The Dunes, and finally, Red, White & BOOM fireworks to finish the night.
We put together a simple one-page guide so you can save it to your phone, print it out, or send it to anyone asking, “What’s happening on Sanibel for the Fourth?”

Quick Local Tip Before You Go
If you are planning to watch the Sanibel Independence Day Parade, do not roll up at 9:25 and expect an easy spot. The parade begins at 9:30 AM, but you will want to be in place before 9:00 AM.
Periwinkle Way gets busy, parking takes time, and half the fun is getting settled before the parade starts.
The best parking spots are in Jerry’s Food, Periwinkle Place shopping plaza, Tahitian Gardens, The Village Shops, the Community Park and across the street from The Community House.
