Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach will be open for guests on December 28, 2023! We have been following its building progress since 2021 as we frequently drive by.
The resort will have 254 island-inspired rooms. Some rooms will have private balconies and most will have views of the Gulf of Mexico – perfect for sunset!

The History of Margaritaville
Based on Jimmy Buffet’s iconic song “Margaritaville” the Margaritaville Resorts and restaurants were started by Buffet in Key West in 1985. The brand quickly expanded and now has locations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, six island locations throughout the Caribbean as well as in Sydney, Australia!
Margaritaville became more than just a place for casual dining but grew into resort-style accommodations with merchandise, casinos, and entertainment.
Buffet wrote Margaritaville in 1977 about a friend of his from Austin Texas and, the influx of tourists descending on Key West, Florida. This song continues to, define his career and his successful entertainment empire.
Unfortunately, Jimmy passed away on September 1, 2023, but his legacy lives on!
