Sanibel Island FlyFishers Club

Sanibel Island FlyFishers Club was founded by Norm Zeigler in 2001 to promote the sport of fly fishing. The club was founded in Norm’s living room with a handful of fly fishing enthusiasts and now has over 100 members! Membership is a combination of residents and visitors and meets every 2nd Thursday of the month and, has a club luncheon every last Thursday of the month. They have regular club outings and remain extremely active. One of the most important things to the club and part of its mission is to promote community-based conservation. They regularly fundraise and dedicate the donations to a scholarship fund. The fund is used to support students at Florida Gulf Coast University, specifically students in the water school program. The fund has also supported Captains For Clean Water, SCCF, Sanibel Sea School, Mind Your Line, and Boy Scouts Of America.
