Pickleball On Sanibel & Captiva
Pickleball on Sanibel & Captiva is extremely popular and there are several places to play and, learn how to play like a pro! Pickleball has been tagged as the fastest-growing sport in America! It is a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It is a paddle sport and is played on a court roughly the size of a doubles badminton court and the game can be played as a singles or doubles game. Pickleball was invented in 1965 by 3 friends who were bored of playing golf. They attempted to set up badminton but could not find a shuttle cock. They grabbed a wiffle ball, lowered the badminton net, and made some makeshift paddles from plywood that was in the shed. Pickleball was born! In the past 3-4 years pickleball has really taken off! In podcast 48 we speak with Peter Redpath, pickleball pro at the Sundial Resort about the sport that is taking Florida by storm!
