What To Do On Turner Beach
Swimming is relatively safe at Turner Beach, although the currents can be strong so be cautious.
Turner Beach shelling is often called the best the island has to offer because of the many rare shells to be found that are often completely intact. It is best to go after a storm or at low tide.
This is a great place for windsurfing, paddle boarding and kiteboarding. There are several places to rent equipment nearby including YOLO Watersports and Sunny Island Adventures. Both rental places are located on Captiva and therefore are close by to the beach.
The fishing is phenomenal at Turner Beach. The unique rock jetty gives any fisher incredible access to the Gulf and therefore a farther-reaching cast. Firstly, you can also fish from either side of Blind Pass Bridge. Secondly, there is the opportunity for kayak and surf fishing. Thirdly, there is also a wide variety of fish including Tarpon, Snook, King Mackerel, Snapper, Grouper and Redfish. What’s not to love!
