The Old Captiva House
Old Captiva House has been a part of the charming ‘Tweens Waters Inn Resort & Spa for many decades. It is a historical building registered with the National Registry of Historic Places. It is open for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast menu is simple with classic options such as omelets, eggs benedict, french toast, fruit & granola. The dinner menu is upscale and creative with dishes such as lobster ravioli, seabass, steak, and lamb chops. Located across the street from the beach, the views are beautiful and the dining room itself is very elegant. This is a popular place for special occasions and perfect beach weddings!

Old Captiva House History
Old Captiva House is located at the historic ‘Tweens Waters Inn & Spa. It sits on the site of Captiva Island’s first-ever schoolhouse which opened in 1908 for a handful of students. By 1931 Grace Price had started a boarding house on the site, ‘Tween Waters Inn. She would make guests home-cooked meals while her husband, F. Bowman Price, would take them on fishing trips. The Old Captiva House has seen its fair share of notable people over the years including island nature preserve pioneer J.N. “Ding” Darling. The expansion of the resort is impressive. Much of this expansion was due to long-time resident Lloyd Wright, a much-loved community leader who was instrumental in developing the SCCF and the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum. He is buried close by at the historical Captiva cemetery.
