The Mucky Duck, Captiva Island, is one of the several historical locations on Captiva Island hot spot, Andy Rosse Lane. The Mucky Duck is a laid-back neighborhood pub with indoor and outdoor dining and a full lunch and dinner menu. The menu is varied serving soups, salads, sandwiches, and burgers for lunch. The dinner menu serves Duck, steaks, several seafood dishes, and pasta. They have great desserts including homemade Key Lime pie and homemade Blueberry pie. They also have an extensive beer collection!

The History Of The Mucky Duck
Built-in 1924 as a dressing room for Captiva’s Fisherman’s Lodge at the end of Andy Rosse Lane, The Mucky Duck soon became a residential building and home to James and Signe Wightman. In 1927 the Wightman’s turned their home into a restaurant called the “Gulf View Inn”. The inn operated from 1931 – 1946. In 1975 it was purchased by 2 investors eager to turn it into a rental property, on visiting the courthouse they found that an expired beer and wine license could be renewed for $100.00, later that day, sitting at the location right on the beach with a beer, they decided a pub was the way to go and The Mucky Duck was born! In 1980, swiss restauranteur Andreas Bieri purchased an interest in The Mucky Duck and became the manager and head chef, by 2016 he had bought out the other partners and has been managing The Mucky Duck since.
Sunset At The Mucky Duck
The Mucky Duck is one of the best places to watch the sunset. With picnic tables and chairs outside, an outdoor bar and right on the beach, this is a very relaxing spot with incredible views. There is also outdoor dining but, The Mucky Duck do not take reservations so make sure you get there early to grab a spot!
