Take a journey along Sanibel’s Dunlop Road and uncover a whole host of fun and interesting things to see and do. There is the Sanibel Public Library, the Sanibel Historical Museum & Village Sanibel Gardens Preserve, BIG ARTS performing arts center, Sanibel Captiva farmers market, and much more as you wander down this particularly winding, and pretty, road. The Sanibel Library is a beautiful building set back from Dunlop Road. You don’t have to be a resident to join, visitors can sign up and the cost is $10, the membership lasts for a year.  The library is great for kids with a lot of selection plus storytime and craft making. There is a robust schedule of programs available to the public and there are e-books, meeting rooms, and computers available.

The Sanibel Farmers Market

Every Sunday, between October and May, the Sanibel Farmers Market takes over the empty parking lot beside the Sanibel Library. The market is held from 8am until 1pm and offers wonderful Vendors providing baked goods, live plants, honey, pasta, cheese, sausages, fresh fish, fresh organic produce, and more! It’s well worth checking out.

Sanibel City Hall is home to all the city management offices including the police department. On the grounds, there is a wonderful native plant garden that is open to the public. You can go on a self-guided tour or, from October – April, the Sanibel Vegetation Committee will take you on a guided tour.
