Giant Pacific Octopus on Sanibel! Sanibel Island is an incredible place to experience nature. There is a huge commitment to conservation. The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum is no exception. The museums’ mission is to conserve, preserve, interpret and celebrate shells. The museum achieves this by having amazing collections.   They have over 30 permanent exhibitions, special temporary exhibitions, and a living gallery with over 50 species of marine life. The recent introduction of OctoCam seeks to allow people to watch these amazing creatures swim, eat and play.
