What is happening to Bailey’s General store after Hurricane Ian? This is a familiar question that we have been asked multiple times and for good reason. Bailey’s is normally the first stop for island visitors to stock up for their vacation.
Quick backstory: Bailey’s General Store has been on Sanibel Island since 1899. The store is now being run by the third and fourth-generation owners, the Johnsons.
